First day of school (for some)

Today is the first day of school for some people. Most students just want their syllabus to be dropped off, be able to pick it up, and walk out with out any lecture. Intern Sizzle came on and added that any if there are any professors listening please don’t prepare a lecture for your class today!

DNC

LB had a softball game at 9:30 so he wasn’t able to watch the Democratic National Convention instead he DVR’d it and watched it this morning!

Bobby doesn’t buy that Hillary wants Obama to win. He even read that Bill Clinton isn’t planning on going to Obama’s next speech. Also for the first time Obama is losing in the polls. Only time will tell what happens!

Carly Patterson

Carly Patterson was set to be in today, however, a huge crash in Atlanta has caused some setbacks. Instead she is going to call in and be “live” in the studio this Friday morning. Patterson was the all-around champion in gymnastics 4 years ago in the Olympics. She’s also promoting a new single that is coming out. Although her single sounds great, Bobby wants to know a little more about her Olympic career.

What’s considered a “Sin”?

Only four students out of Bobby’s graduating class in high school went to college, and two of them went to well-known college universities. His hometown was very poor and broke down, so most kids either went to work at the mill or were pregnant. Bobby told a story about his friend who wanted to be a preacher and started out being a “youth counselor.” The friend had a girlfriend and Bobby knew they weren’t doing it, but when he would go to the room he would hear some scrimmaging between them, so something was going on. Bobby was wondering what exactly can you do before it is considered a sin when you are studying to be a preacher. Bobby’s whole point was that he lived with a guy that wanted to be a preacher and always wanted the definition of “Sin.” The show went on to throw out all kinds of scenarios of temptation that could possibly cause some sort of “Sin.”

This story comes to us from Chicago, Illinois. A 22-year-old man was arrested at a hospital shortly after robbing a nearby convenient store. However, the reason he was arrested at a hospital was because he shot himself during the robbery. Police arrested him at the hospital when he tried to get medical treatment. Ladies and gentlemen that is your Bonehead of the Day!!

Step-over

LB asked what happened to Becky #1 in the sitcom “Roseanne.” Bobby enlightened him and said that she came back and finished the series with the cast. LB thought that it must suck to have your role taken from you. Bobby said that if you came in to a series to replace someone, you have to expect to be dropped if the original cast member ever comes back. Sorry Becky #2!

Hollywood Skinny at 6:15 and 8:15

-Heidi Montag’s video for her new song - Overdosin’ – is out. Ummm...with all her money (fyi: she makes $65,000 per episode of “The Hills,” you’d think it would be better. You can see the video on the front page of our website. Enjoy!?

-According to the New York Post, Denise Richards' "reality" show has been canceled. A source confirmed that "The numbers started out pretty good - just over 1.5 million tuned in for the premiere episode. But the audience has dropped off..."Denise has turned into an unappealing reality star.” And for someone who tried to appear like the "perfect" mother, her often foul language didn't sit well with too many good moms. The source continued, "Viewers were disgusted that a mother of two young girls would use such foul language.”?

-OK! magazine reports that Michael Lohan is engaged to a much younger blonde named Erin Mueller. Apparently, she just turned 24 – so that makes her about 2 years older than Lindsay...Michael is 48. They are trying to keep the engagement quiet, but people say with that huge ring she’s flashing – its kind of hard not to notice. Now it was only 2 months ago that Lindsay found out she may have a 13-year-old sister – she should know that for sure within 30 days. Her dad and the woman making the claim have agreed to take a mutual paternity test.?

-Common people are not the only one's taking a hit from the high oil prices. Things are so bad that Diddy's grounding his private jet. He made the announcement on his YouTube blog. Two round-trip flights on his private jet between LA and NY now costs him about $200K. Diddy now has to fly American Airlines. In the video he sent a shout out to his “Saudi brothers and sisters to send him some oil.” So, until the oil prices come down, Diddy's only flying commercial.

BBS Mailbag

Email 1: Is a teacher and enjoys her 40 minute drive to work listening to a morning show that cheers her up and makes her laugh!

Email 2: Couldn’t even watch 1 minute of that Heidi Montag video that is on the front page of the Bobby Bones website. LB and Bobby added that Heidi is pretty attractive since she has seeked some surgery to enhance her beauty.

Email 3: Listener, Elizabeth wants to know that when Bobby gets really big and famous can we still “punch him in the face” if he pulls the “Do you know who I am” tantrum?

Email 4: A listener wants to let Carlos know that he can watch “Cheaters” on the G4 channel.

Email 5: Bobby got a weird email about Joey Greco getting stabbed on Cheaters. The listener said it was old news... Bobby said it was old news and he mentioned that yesterday during the segment.

Email 6: Listener wants the BBS to please stop saying “Butt hurt” and tell LB that “I’m in for the WIN!” is getting old..

Possible Amazing Race Winner?

Bobby saw Christy, from the Amazing Race, out this weekend with what looked like a new BMW. So he was starting to think what if these two girls won the entire thing! When he asked her, she said that she’d had her BMW car for 3 years now. He said that he is going to do some investigation!

Teacher Time!

Bobby asked if there are any early morning “teacher” listeners out there listening. Since school just started he wanted to ask them about the new semester.

-Amanda, a 2nd grade teacher. Loves the BBS and listens every morning!

-Lauren, a new 3rd Grade teacher. Bobby asked if students start learning to write cursive? Lauren said, “They are, but concentrate more on writing legibly.”

-Lindsay, a 2nd Grade teacher. Bobby asked if she dreads parent conferences. She said that it isn’t her favorite thing.

**Bobby added that sometimes there are students who are 18 and 19 years old in high school that have new teachers right out of college. These new teachers may only be a few years older than them, so basically right in the same age bracket. With this happening, Bobby and LB both suspect that there has to be a lot of hooking up going on.

Carly Patterson

Carly was suppose to be live in the studio this morning, but her label and her couldn’t get out of Chicago due to a major airline back-up. Patterson was the all-around gymnastics winner in the 2004 Olympics. Following her performance this year is winner/gymnast Nastia Liukin. Bobby asked if Carly thought that the Chinese gymnasts were too young. She modestly replied, that there has been lots of speculation and that it is currently being investigated. Patterson has been training since she was 6 years old and actually pushed her parents to get her into gymnastics. LB asked how she was discovered? She was at a friend’s birthday party, which happened to be at a gym, and a coach noticed and approached her. LB asked, why did you quit after being #1 in the world? She said that she’s achieved everything that she could have ever dreamed of and has other goals that she wants to do. She also added that her back was starting to give her problems. Bobby asked, what prompted you to get into singing? Patterson replied, her dad was a singer and singing was always something that she wanted to do since she was a kid, just that gymnastics came first. Amy asked if Carly will ever incorporate any of her gymastic moves into her show performance. She said that sounded like a good idea and would actually be kind of funny! Patterson is 5’2” and grew only 4” inches after she finished. She was only 4’ 9” at the 2004 Olympics at the age of 16! Amy asked if being small come natural to her or did she have to work out a lot and not eat as much to stay with other gymnast in weight. She said that she had to eat normal because as a gymnast you wouldn’t have enough energy to do any of the events if not. Bobby brought up that Carly was on a show called “Celebrity Duets.” She even sang with Jesse McCartney, who was really nice and pretty shy; however never dated him. LB asked, did you ever just bust your butt at the Olympics? She actually fell on all 3 of her tumbling passes in her first all-around event.

LB’s follow up question was, are you just so nervous when you have to do the all-around competition? She replied that she wasn’t nervous but more pumped up and pretty much in “auto-pilot” since she has gone through the routines over and over. Her favorite event was the balance beam!

One Block Radius

Hollywood Skinny 7:15 & 9:15?

-Dr. Dre’s 20-year old son, Andre Young Jr., was found “unresponsive” by his mother at his Woodland Hills, CA home Saturday, reports the L.A. County Coroner’s Office. Young’s mother told police that she attempted to rouse her son at 10:24 a.m. on Saturday, and when she couldn’t, she called paramedics. They pronounced him dead at the scene. Young “had been out with friends” the previous night and returned home around 5:30 a.m. An autopsy was performed Monday and no foul play is suspected. “Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son,” Dre’s rep says in a statement. “Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time.” The music star has four other children: 26-year old Curtis, 17-year old Marcus and 11-year old Truth as well as a 7-year old daughter, Truly.?

The new judge that is going to be on American Idol, Kara Dioguardi, wrote nearly half of Paris’ last album, but she’s not too proud of it, so she has nothing to do with this upcoming one.?

“Bark Mitzvah”

Bobby talked about a picture that he is having painting for his dog, which prompted a story of a guy that spent $10,000 for a bar mitzvah (actually a “bark mitzvah”) for his dog. Nobody on the show said that they would go to that extreme, but Amy said that she cares a lot about her dog and is planning on micro chipping her. However, she hasn’t yet and wanted some more insight on the whole procedure.

Jennifer Hudson

LB said that Jennifer Hudson is going to sing for the Democratic National Convention. He added that they should have found somebody that is a little hotter. They through out tons of names but concluded that Rihanna should sing even though she can’t vote.

Amy is a Vigilante

Amy is a neighborhood watchman! She is currently working with her neighbors to look out for any suspicious behavior in the neighborhood. She recently attended a “neighborhoods watch” meeting at her local civic center that her neighbors called. Her and 35 people went over a grid of the neighborhood, pin-pointing all the houses that have been robbed in past months. At the meeting she received lots of pamphlets, in which one was on “Nuclear Warfare Preparation.” She even learned a new tip that her local Police Chief said, “When you are walking/jogging carry your phone, call 911, but quickly hang up so it would be the last number that you dialed. She even said that she might be able to get a badge!! Good luck Officer Amy!

BBS Blogs

Amy: She happened to find an interesting ad in her pamphlet that she received at the “Neighborhood Watchmen” meeting. Her neighborhood has a citizen police academy that last for 8 weeks! They take you throw K9 demonstrations, through the Police station, and other tips that are needed to tackle down hard criminals. Bobby begs Amy to take part in this academy as he thinks it would be one of

LB’s Manblog: Bobby has been talking about the book “Last Lecture” and how great it is. So he gave it to LB who actually read 20 pages of it, but left it on the ground. Well when he got home the book was shredded into pieces because his dog tore it all up. LB assured Bobby that he would not be giving his book back, but plans on still reading it once he buys it.

Bobby: On yesterday’s show, Bobby started to sing a part of the song from the movie “grease.” It turns out that he was actually in the musical “Grease” his senior year of high school! Even worse, he choreographed all the moves for the musical. As you probably could tell LB and Carlos both made lots of fun of him. Well he got a lot of emails from his singing so he decided to sing the “Oh Sandy” song from Grease. Make sure you hear it on the Podcast!!

LB Guesses Weight

This funny and favorite segment of The BBS has female listeners call in and talk to LB as he tries to guess their weight within 5 pounds!

1.Mura-Favorite food to eat is pasta and bread. She is 5 foot 3. She played softball in high school. LB guesses 110 and She weighs 114.  LB guessed correct!

2.Lanette-She eats three meals a day and she sometimes like the drive through. She weighs 170 and LB guessed 168!  LB guessed Correct!

3.Catheline- She works at a car dealership. She is an office manager. She is 20 years old. She is 5 foot 7. She does not drink beer. He guesses 154 and she weighs 150! LB guessed correct!

4.Desiree-She is 25 years old and 5 foot 8. She has three children. LB guesses 126 and she weighs 140! LB guessed wrong!

5.Megan-LB thinks she sounded like a guy! She does not smoke and is 18 years old. She is in her second year of college. LB guesses 116 and she wins 113! LB guessed correct!

Bobby received lots of emails, so here are just some of them!!

Email: Listeners say that they are tired of Amy being attacked by everyone on the show and wouldn’t be surprised if she left.

Email: A listener said that Bobby shouldn’t listen to everyone call him “gay” since he likes musicals. Carlos said that it just seems a little weird since he was part of a musical at the age of 18.

Enough to Break it off?

Bobby got an email from a girlfriend who concerned about her boyfriend. They’ve been dating for a few months so it isn’t all that serious yet, however they are in an exclusive relationship. Well anytime that they start to hook up he has to use an inhaler and when it gets to hot he has nose bleeds. She wanted to know if that is a “deal breaker?” Bobby said that he had chronic nosebleeds growing up due to extreme heat, but never had one when he was making out with a girl. Here’s what the show said:

-LB: That is a deal breaker, he would have her buy him new sheets and everything if that happened.

-Carlos: If she was very hot then she could bleed all over him, he’ll just have to take a shower

-Amy: You would have to evaluate the situation. It’s not his fault that it happens.

**How about peeing in the bed? If that was the case, Bobby said that he would connect two twin beds so the pee wouldn’t get on his. A caller said that his brother had a peeing problem. So the first night that his girlfriend spent the night his peeing problem happened and that ended their relationship for good!!

Farting

The last segment ran into a conversation about Amy farting in front of her husband. She said that she has accidentally farted, but just once. Other questions that were asked: Has she ever used the restroom and left the door open when talking to her husband? She said that it has happened once, but only when she was peeing.

A few Calls

Call #1: Hann, Wants to know what LB would do if he was in a committed relationship and the girl discovered that she has a chronic peeing problem? He said that he would totally ditch her, immediately!

Call #2: Lisa, wanted to tell the BBS the first time she farted in front of her husband. She was so proud of the moment since she was able to fart on “cue” on her husband’s butt cheek.

Call #3: Heather, 28-years-old, said that if she can’t fart in front of her kids and husband, what could she do?

Bobby Dating Frenzy

Bobby said that he and Christy, Amazing Race contestant, have messaged each other and started a pretty good dialogue together. He thinks he’ll probably go out with her, however doesn’t like it when Carlos and LB try setting him up with girls in the studio. LB said that he hooked Bobby up with one other person in the past, in which Amy was totally surprised. Bobby wants to go on record to let all listeners know that he doesn’t go out with every girl that comes in the studio.

Dog “Bark Mitzvah”

Bobby played an audio clip of a Dog “Bark Mitzvah” that a proud owner put on for his dog. Bobby said that he is all about dogs and is even getting a portrait painted for his own dog. He added that it seems like the only reason this guy threw the party was to get friends over.
